Part of what makes a product “The Best” is what you are trying to do with it. Some products are stronger in one area than another.
However, having said that, I do have three favorite ways to create a website.
First, however, because I don’t know a lot of HTML or CSS, I like to use a template. You can find tons of Open Source templates on the web, but the best place I know is. “Open Source” means it can be used by anyone, but you should check the terms of use for the different templates.
Once I have my template, which usually comes with additional layouts and the CSS files, I need a program that will let me modify the template to make MY pages. There are 2 I use:
1. My favorite is Coffee Cup HTML Editor. Not free, but reasonably priced. It also comes with a free FTP manager which allows me to upload my pages to my site. Here’s the link:.
2. Recently I found a free web page designer program — NVU. I downloaded it and put one page up with it (http://www.zippyturtle.com/learn-sign-language.html). It is pretty easy to use, and I like it. Here’s the link for NVU:
So those are the best DIY options, in my opinion. But my all time favorite is Site Build It (SBI). SBI is the best way to start from scratch and build a business on the web. So if you want more than just a simple webpage, I’d suggest you check this out:.
SBI is a complete solution. It helps you identify your niche, find the best keywords and offers suggestions (and tutorials) for monetization. And it is a superb page builder.
All the best!

It doesn’t mean that you really need to have the expert level skills to create a website of your own, however creating a website from scratch is fulfilling. Currently, there are Web Content Management Software or applications that you can use in creating your website without getting into the hassle of having a crash course in HTML and CSS. It doesn’t take a lot of technical knowledge to use a Web CMS, such CMS that I am referring to are Joomla, Drupal and Wordpress.
Nevertheless, having the basic skills and the right knowledge and creativity is the key to a successful website. You may check out free resources or tutorials in creating websites on your own. You may also join communities and forums that can help you. One of the site that can help you is sitesource101.com. They have resources on creating your own website, internet marketing and SEO also.
It doesn’t take to be an IT expert to create a website, what it takes is your creativity, the right skills and information or knowledge.
