HI. I’m a teacher and I want to create a website outside the one my school offers. The one at school is so limited. I will need to have something that I can use to have lots of pics, videos and pod casts organized. Also I need a blog. What software can I purchase to get this done. I have to buy it myself so I’d like to keep it under $100. I want my site to look professional since a lot of administrators are looking at what I will be doing. I am not a computer idiot, but I am not all that familiar with HTML so a template type software with lots of options would be great.

DreamWeaver. Very easy to use and it works great on Macs.

Just use N-Vu. It is a free website creator that is as easy to use as a word processor. Just Google it. While you can just use its in its normal view, if you know HTML you can take it a lot further.

I’m a big fan of CMS sites. This allows you to create a turnkey site with your own feel. They come in ASP and PHP as far as I know. I use Drupal, it’s so easy to build a site and you can download templates or customize your own. Dreamweaver is a good sweet to use to customize the templates.
